I left my heart in Ibiza…

…and that’s why I had to go back.

Last year me and my best friend went to Ibiza for a couple of days. We found cheap tickets from Barcelona and we just had to get there. It was at the end of October, the season had just ended – it was quiet and beautiful. We loved every single second of our time there.

The moment I stepped in the airport to leave, I knew that I would come back to that island several times again. A week later I bought a one way ticket to Ibiza. For June. I was going alone.

Granted, I had a lot of time to make plans for Ibiza – like more than 6 months – but I still managed to book my accommodation two weeks before leaving. I didn’t make any specific plans for my stay there and that was the best decision ever. Good things happens when you don’t plan everything ahead.

On the 29th of June 2016 at 2am I went to the airport for my flight to Ibiza. 15 hours later(I had an 8 hour layover in Rome) and I was there. The moment I stepped outside I felt at peace again. I also felt that I had way too much clothes on, I was melting. It was over 30 degrees and I was wearing a sweater and black leggings? Not the appropriate clothes for Ibiza.

The apartment I stayed at was right in the middle of San Antonio, the same lovely town we stayed at in October. I stayed with the most amazing people there. A woman, Yael, made sure that I had a great stay and thanks to her I have some of the best memories of my life from that little island. She put me, her and a friend of mine from England on a guestlist to the Ushuaia beach club. . It was the Blue opening party that night and we saw Felix Jaehn, Robin Schulz, Oliver Heldens and more for free. We had to be there pretty early but that meant we got to be at the front row and got free drinks too. Life was amazing.

The party went on until midnight but me, Izzy and a couple more people we had just met decided to go to the beach. On our way there we stopped for food and drinks and I even met another Estonian girl working there and the owner even gave us a free bottle of champagne! Life was even better.

The next day me and Izzy decided to go to a boat party Yael had told us about and we invited our friends from the night before too. The party was amazing. It included a pre party at a surf lounge, free bar and snacks, a stop in the middle of the sea to go swimming and more.

The boat party also included a ritual, meaning that everyone got a shot and some rose petals. We stopped right next to the Es Vedra rock and first we had to think of a wish, take the shot and then throw the rose petals into the sea. Who knows, maybe the wishes will come true.

After the ritual we started to go back towards San Antonio. We were on the sea for about 6 or 7 hours and we got back just in time for the afterparties.

After we got back to the land I took my friends to a bar me and my best friend went to in October. Still the best bar in San An with the cheapest drinks and best barmen.

The next morning me and Izzy decided to explore a little bit of Ibiza town/Eivissa. We were on the guestlist for Ushuaia again and wanted to kill some time before that. We met up near my apartment and on our way we went. Our first stop was to the old town of Ibiza town or Dalt Vila as it’s also called.

After seeing the Dalt Vila we headed to Ushuaia. It was Saturday so it was Ants night there. We didn’t stay for long because I had to leave the next day and we still wanted to see more but it was still amazing.

After Ushuaia we were on the search for a tattoo parlor so Izzy could get tattood, took us about an hour or more but finally found one. Then we went back to Ibiza town to meet up with our friends and do some shopping.

Since I had a 6 am wake up the next day it was a quiet night for me. I was after all going to fly to Paris, and you want to look your best when you get there.

Ibiza somehow managed to get a hold of my heart the moment we got there and the love doesn’t seem to ever go away. No matter how hot it is or how many people there are, Ibiza always will be a good idea.
